JpGU has created “The Career Explorer Logo (CE Logo)” that allows
members who are currently seeking employment to indicate this in each of their
presentations. Those who wish to use the logo may place it on their
JpGU Meeting presentation proceedings and in their presentation
materials including posters. The introduction of this logo will support
the development of career paths for a variety of members, including
students, fixed-term researchers, and those seeking to change jobs
or rehire.

* Please apply for use if you so wish.

as last year. Please refer to last year’s guidelines for reference.
https://www.jpgu.org/meeting_e2022/files/childcare.pdf

[Call for donations for childcare support]
While the JpGU Committee for Diversity Management and Talent Pool
provided support for childcare fees outside of regular/daily
childcare-use at the last year’s JpGU Meeting, we plan to resume our
support in providing an on-site childcare room at the JpGU 2023, as
we did before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we have a significant
budget shortfall to do so and we must ask for your financial support.
For your donation to be used for a childcare support, please make a
designated donation by filling out the following form.

We will introduce the featured articles selected by the editor-in-chief
from the papers published in the past.

@ Tetsuya Shinozaki et al.
Identifying tsunami traces beyond sandy tsunami deposits using
terrigenous biomarkers: a case study of the 2011 Tohoku-oki tsunami
in a coastal pine forest, northern Japan.
https://doi.org/10.1186/s40645-022-00491-6

This paper presents sedimentological and geochemical characteristics
of the 2011 Tohoku-oki tsunami sediments collected from coastal
forests using visual observation of the sediments, computed tomography,
and geochemical analyses. The sediment samples contain biomarkers
derived from terrestrial vegetation, and their horizontal variation
may record tsunami inundation.

@ Dyuti Prakash Sarkar et al.
Carbonate clumped isotope thermometry of fault rocks and its
possibilities: tectonic implications from calcites within Himalayan
Frontal Fold-Thrust Belt.
https://doi.org/10.1186/s40645-021-00435-6

This paper demonstrates the applicability of the carbonate clumped
isotope thermometer in low-grade carbonate-bearing fault rocks from
the Himalayan frontal wedge. The integration of the analytical
techniques, such as the carbonate clumped isotope thermometer and
the e-twin morphology of calcite, can promote the application of
calcite-based clumped isotope thermometry to the fault zone processes.
