How to Pay JpGU Fees
How to make paymentPayment of the JpGU annual fee, JpGU Meeting registration fee and JpGU Meeting abstract submission fee is done using the JpGU Members Site. Please note that new members are required to pay their first year’s annual fee as part of the registration process. Those who wish to pay using an institutional credit card have to be authorized to enter the details of that card when making their payment.
An electronic receipt can be downloaded after logging in to the JpGU Members Site. As a general rule the JpGU Office does not send out invoices or receipts by post.
How to issue receipts using the JpGU Members Site
– Login to the JpGU Members Site using your membership ID and password
– Click on “Settlement” in the menu on left hand side of the screen.
– In the sub menu that appears click on “Receipt” as appropriate.
– If there is more than one paid item (e.g. both annual membership fee and JpGU Meeting registration fee have been paid) choose the relevant item and if the information (date, recipient name etc.) is correct click on “confirmation”. In the unlikely event that there is a problem please email the JpGU office for help.
– A pdf of the receipt will be displayed. This may be downloaded or printed as required.
Period covered by the JpGU annual fee
The JpGU fiscal year starts on April 1st and ends on March 31st of the following year (Tokyo time), and the annual membership fee covers this period. Please note that those who become members on dates other than April 1st will be charged a full years’ fee for their initial partial year of membership.
We accept payment of the annual fee for the next April – March period from the beginning of the immediately preceding January.
Any member who is more than 2 years in arrears with the payment of their annual fee will forfeit their membership. They will receive a final email notification before this happens.
Please note that members aged 70 or over are still required to pay the JpGU annual membership fee every year.

For Associate Members, membership is automatically extended for another year as long as the member is still eligible for Associate Membership. Associate Members who graduate from university or leave full time education are no longer eligible for Associate Membership, and those who wish to continue as members of the JpGU should reapply as JpGU Members.
