1. Call for
votes Representative Election of Japan Geoscience Union
To members and
those who have not finished membership registration
If you make
a membership subscription by October 30, you can make a
vote.
The 1st representative election of Japan Geoscience Union is
under way.
Representatives or staff elected by members become section
presidents or persons eligible for directors.
They pass resolutions regarding executive official
elections, confirmation of project master plans and other
operation policies together with society members at regular
and extraordinary general staff meetings.
E-voting
system is adopted.
JpGU Members can cast at most 5 votes in your electoral
zone.
If you make a
membership subscription by October 30, 2009 , you can make
votes.
Please make a
membership subscription on this occasion, and vigorously
vote for representative election to reflect your will on
smooth operation of JpGU.

October 30 are eligible to vote.
Please cast your votes for at most 5 representatives in
your electoral zone.
Voting can be made from October 1 to October 30.

Deadline is October 30 Friday, 2009.

Japan Earth
Science Olympiad Committee
The
3rd International Earth Science Olympiad was held from
September 14 to 22 in Taiwan to commemorate the 10th
anniversary of recovery from Chi-chi Earthquake.
50 students from 14 countries participated in it.
They took written tests and practical tests to win medals
around Taipei.
International cooperating field research was conducted on
earthquake fault in Taichung.
All 4 members of Team Japan won silver medals.

International Earth Science Olympiad 2012 is to be held in
Tsukuba-city in Japan.
