#2. The JpGU Meeting 2018 Information

(1) Registration

All attendees are required the online registration in order to attend
the meeting. The registration on-site is also through online with the
same procedure.
*Please note that abstract submission fee does not register
you to the meeting.

To register,
1. Log in to https://www.member-jpgu.org/jpgu/en/ with your
JpGU ID and password.
2. Go to “JpGU Meeting” tab and click “Meeting Registration”
3. Select the type of registration (Full meeting or One day)
4. Register your name on the badge
5. Proceed to the payment (Undergraduate students and
JpGU senior members are exempt for the last process)

*Attendees of public session can participate free of charge.
*Senior member, undergraduate student or younger can attend
the meeting free of charge but are requested to finish a meeting
registration before coming to the venue. A long time is expected
to take if not registered in advance.

(2) Check-in at the Site

All participants are required to wear a meeting pass (name badge) when in the
conference site.

Badges are issued at the Check-in counter on the first floor of International
Conference Hall.
Please bring your Registration e-ticket.

Check-in counter is a self-check-in system. Name badge is automatically printed
by scanning a barcode on the Registration e-ticket.
E-tickets displayed on electric devices is available.

Location: East Entrance, 1F International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe
Open Hours:
May 19: 5:00pm – 7:00pm
May 20 – 24 8:00am – 6:30pm

[Important Notes]
-Presenters and attendees of Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall, International
Exhibition Hall 7 are also required to issue their meeting passes at
the check-in counter at International Conference Hall before attending.

-Advance check in for the following day is available every day at
5:00pm-6:30pm (-7:00pm on 19).
-North Entrance is for re-entry use. Please show your meeting pass at
the gate.

【Graduate Students】

Graduate students who do not have the approval from their supervisors
may be charged a Regular rate at the gate.
Please make sure to complete the required procedure if you wish to
receive a student discount rate.

【Undergraduate Students】

Please make sure to bring your student ID in either English or Japanese
and check-in through a student lane.
Undergraduate students who don’t bring the student ID will be charged
a registration fee.

(3) Information for Presenters

[Oral Presentation]
-Presenters must bring their own laptop computers.
(Computers not equipped in presentation rooms.)
* Please contact the headquarters (205) if you feel difficulties in
bringing a computer.
-Projector is equipped in each presentation rooms.
The proper connectors to the projector are miniD-sub15pins or HDMI.
For the use of HDMI, please contact our staff in your presentation room.
The set-up size of the screen is 16:9(can be arranged to 4:3).
The connection cables are not prepared. Please bring your own if necessary.

[Poster Presentation]
-Poster board is in landscape orientation. [Board Size: W:180cm×H90cm]
There is no limitation on the size and number of sheets of the poster
if they fit the board size.

*Please note that PCs, tablets or any electric devices that needs a
power supply to operate are not available in the Exhibition Hall.

-Each session may have 2 poster core times, Daytime Core Time and
Evening Core Time.
Daytime core time is scheduled between AM2-PM2.
*Some sessions may not have a Daytime core time at the convener’s
discretion.

-Posting time is 9:00am-6:30pm. Please remove your poster at the end
of the posting time.
Posters not removed by the due time are discarded by the secretariats.

**All presenters should contact and have approvals of their session
conveners using the designed form in case of cancellation.

(4) Mobile App

Mobile App will be available after the release of abstracts (May 11).
Please wait for a while.

(5) Announcements from Sessions

Any attendees are welcome to join the sessions.

(7) Poster Print Service

JpGU has partnered with printing company, Kinko’s to print posters.
Posters ordered here are delivered to the site.

Applications should be submitted from Kinko’s online system.
(All instructions are in Japanese.)

We provide language assistance to those who need it.
Please refer to our website for further information about assistance
for international presenters.

(8) JpGU Photo Contest 2018: Call for Entry [Deadline: May 17]

We are now accepting photos related to geoscinece for JpGU Photo
Contest 2018.

The award-winning photo will be the poster of JpGU Meeting 2019.

#7. Information from PEPS

(1) APC subsidies to be changed

In addition to being funded by JpGU, PEPS received a grant-in-aid for
scientific research from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
As the period covered by this five year grant-in-aid expired, the APC
(Article Processing Charge) subsidies will be reduced soon.

(2) Awarded Papers 2018

We are pleased to announce that three papers published on PEPS have
qualified for the PEPS Most Cited Accessed Paper Award 2018 and three
papers have qualified for the PEPS Most Accessed Paper Award 2018.

(3) Exhibition at JpGU Meeting 2018
