(3) Outstanding Student Presentation Award (OSPA)
Each year, JpGU awards students that deliver outstanding
presentations during the meeting.(OSPA)

Period: January 10 – February 19, 2018 at 5:00pm JST

the designed page.
Details: requirements and other details will be open at the
end of December.

[Call for OSPA Judges]
Volunteer judges are an integral part of the judging process of
OSPA. Please sign up to be a judge for 2018 OSPA!
Details are to be updated online soon.

(4) Travel Support for Students
JpGU offers financial support for students in order to attend the
2018 meeting.

Eligible applicants:
Applicant must be a student (high school to graduate school) at the
time of application.
Applicant must be the first author and the presenter(posters included).
Will be required to provide your information to JpGU.

Students in minority groups in nationality and gender will be
given priorities.

-Announcement of Recipients: March 13

Abstract submissions after the confirmation of the reipients are not
available.

(5) Chiba Field Trips
JpGU will conduct our very first two field trips featuring the special
scientific spots in Chiba on May 25.

YAMA Course:Filed trip for “Chibanian”
: The first Japanese GSSP candidate “Chiba Section” and its adjacent
sequences.

UMI Course: Special Tour to SHIRASE and PERC
This is a special tour to the scientific wealth in Funabashi and Narashino
are, boarding a retired antarctic research vessel “Japanese icebreaker
SHIRASE” and visiting Planetary Exploration Research Center, Chiba
Institute of Technology.

Details are to be open soon on our website.

(6) Business Meeting & Student Working Program (part time job)
We will start the applications after the program schedule is finalized,
around the end of March.

(7) About JpGU Membership
The 2018 JpGU fiscal year starts on January 10, 2018.
Please note that any membership payments received before or on
January 9, will be applied towards 2017 membership year and annual due
for the 2018 year will also be charged.

(8) Call for Exhibitors
At the JpGU Meeting, the largest meeting on geoscience in Japan, the
number of exhibitors has been increasing.
Exhibition is very popular with not only exhibitors but also participants.
The number of booths is increased from the last year. Please be a
part of JpGU 2018 Meeting to promote your products, projects and
sevices, and to expand your communication network.

We have accepted many application.

The Japan Geoscience Union (JpGU) is now accepting recommendations
for candidates for the 2018 JpGU Fellowship Program.

(5)Japan Earth Science Olympiad Committee
The preliminary round of the Japan Earth Science Olympiad, and
12th International Earth Science Olympiad in Thailand, will be held
on Sunday,December 17.
The number of the applicants is 2211(last year 1924) and they will be
competing in 74 sites. 60 of the candidates will win the prize to go
to the next round being held on March 11 – 13.

The reception of articles for a new SPEPS (Special call for excellent papers on hot topics) series has been started.
We are looking forward to receiving your excellent manuscripts on:
