The session proposal for the JpGU Meeting 2018 starts soon on September
1st 2017. The proposal website, also opening on Sept 1st, will close on
October 12th at 17:00 JST.
More information can be reached on the Meeting website to be launched
on Sept 1st.

#3. Announcement on the period for declaration of candidacy

Period for declaration of candidacy started at 9am on Thursday August
10th 2017.
The statutes of the Japan Geoscience Union were amended in 2017 to
increase the number of elected representatives from 100 to 150.
Because of this we are hoping for many new candidates for this
year’s election. We would like to encourage all JpGU members to
stand as a candidate, to recommend others as candidates, and to vote.

Schedule
Period for declaration of candidacy starts:
9am on Thursday August 10th 2017
Period for declaration of candidacy ends:
5pm on Monday September 11th 2017
Voting starts:
9am on Monday October 2nd 2017
Voting ends:
5pm on Wednesday November 1st 2017
Ballot counting and reporting of election results:
Monday November 6th 2017

How to stand as a candidate / How to recommend a candidate
Please fill in the relevant form on the JpGU Members Site
( https://www.member-jpgu.org/jpgu/en/ ) before the September 11th
deadline. To access the form, log in using your JpGU ID and password,
click the button “Representative Election” in menu at the left of
your screen.

The nonmember ID, 6 digits starting for 17-, was an ID for the use
of registration, abdtract submission for the 2017 meeting.
This nonmember ID will expired on August 31, 2017.

If you wish to participate in our next meeting, JpGU Meeting 2018,
please acquire a new ID.

#6. Information from PEPS

(1) How to receive a waiver or a discount for APC

When submitting a review article, a data paper, an invited article
(including a submission based on a convener-recommended presentation
at a JpGU Annual Meeting) or an article to which JpGU membership
discount is applied, you need to input a SpringerOpen membership
account number (i.e. a discount/waiver code) to receive your JpGU
APC discount or waiver.

Please be sure to contact the PEPS office at to
receive your SpringerOpen membership account number before submitting
your article.
If you continue your submission without a valid SpringerOpen membership
account number you will be charged the full APC amount.

AOGS-EGU Joint Conference: New Dimensions for Natural Hazards in Asia

Details: This conference discusses current advances in knowledge and new
perspectives relevant to natural hazard in the Asian region. We invite
contributions covering the complete spectrum of natural hazards, from
the practical to the theoretical, from geo-scientists, geo-engineers, and
hazard practitioners (with encouragement to social scientists and policy
actors also to contribute).
