#1. Announcement on the election of JpGU Representatives
Period for declaration of candidacy of JpGU Representatives starts at
9am on Friday, August 13, 2021. We encourage all JpGU members to
consider running for JpGU Representative, or to recommend others as
candidates, and to vote. We look for your active participation in the
election process.
(1) Schedule
Period for declaration of candidacy of JpGU Representatives starts:
9am on Friday August 13, 2021
Period for declaration of candidacy ends:
5pm on Monday September 13, 2021
Voting starts:
9am on Monday October 4, 2021
Voting ends:
5pm on Thursday November 4, 2021
Ballot counting and Announcement of results:
Wednesday November 10, 2021
(2) How to run for a candidate / How to recommend a candidate
Please fill in the relevant form on the JpGU Members Site
( https://www.jpgu-member.org/jpgu/en/ ) before the September 13
deadline. To access the form, log in using your JpGU ID and password,
click the button “Representative Election” in menu at the left of your
screen.

We will start accepting session proposals for the JpGU Meeting 2022
from October 1.

Meeting format: Hybrid (on-site + online)
On-site venue: Makuhari Messe Chiba, Japan

The latest issue (Vol.17, No.3) of the Japan Geoscience Union
Newsletter (JGL) has been published. The electronic version is

#5. Information from PEPS
The number of paper downloads of PEPS articles in 2020 showed about
three times increase from 2018. The latest Impact Factor for PEPS has
increased to 3.604.
(1) SPEPS (Special call for excellent papers on hot topics) article
collections
We publish an open-access special issue (SPEPS) focusing on session
themes of international conferences and achievements of projects.
SPEPS is expected to be an effective place to disseminate research
results to the world.
We welcome the proposal of a new SPEPS special issue from your
session of JpGU2021 or your project.
