(2) From Organizing Committee
The number of participants in this meeting held online from May 30
to June 6 exceeded 5400. I’m sure that there were many points to be
desired, but thanks to your understanding and cooperation, we were
able to close the JpGU 2021. I would like to thank you again.
In order to make the next year’s meeting even more fulfilling, the
meeting organizing committee and all those involved in the meeting
will continue to discuss this matter. I would like to ask for your
continued cooperation and look forward to seeing you next year.

We would like to hear your opinions on JpGU 2021 to improve our
future meetings. We would also like to hear from those who did not

(4) Contents we provide after the 2021 meeting

[Meeting portal site (Confit)]
You will be able to log in to Confit for one year after the meeting
and view the presentation materials (abstract PDF, e-posters,
on-demand videos, and additional materials). Please note that we
will delete all presentation materials except for abstract PDF when
we remove the login function after one year. We will make the
abstract PDF available at our meeting website soon so that anyone
can view them without waiting for one year.

[On-demand webcast of Union sessions & events]
On-demand webcast of the following sessions will be available on the
meeting portal (Confit) for a limited time. The contents will be
made available sequentially from the sessions/events that are ready.
Details are available from the “On-demand” tab on Confit.

[Lounge space]
The lounge space, oVice, can be used until June 20.
The following on-demand streaming is viewable at the lounge space.

(5) Certificates
Certificates are issued for those who request them from the designated
form to be open soon. The details will be announced on the meeting
website and on Confit when it becomes ready.

(6) JpGU Meeting 2022 Information

Japan Geoscience Union Meeting 2022 (Tentative plan)
Date: May 22(Sun) – 26 (Thu), 2022
Venue: Makuhari, Chiba, Japan
*There is a possibility that the meeting will be held completely in
an online or a hybrid (online + onsite) format. We will consider
the best way to hold the meeting.

#3. Representative Election

Term of office of representatives elected in 2020 expires on March
31, 2022, and the next representative election will be announced
at the beginning of August. Only JpGU members who have paid the
membership fee by the day before the public announcement of the
representative election are eligible to be candidates, to be
nominators, and to vote. To be a JpGU member, approval by the board
of directors is required after the application through online system.
The board meeting will be held in July, and the day before the meeting
is the deadline for membership application through online system.
Please apply for JpGU membership by the deadline.

Please check your payment status of membership fee through online
system, and if you find that you have not yet made payment for
membership fee for 2021 and before, please complete it as soon as
possible.
