Dr. Syukuro Manabe has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his contributions to physical modeling of Earth’s climate that have enabled quantification of climate change and reliable predictions of global warming.

The news of this Nobel Prize is particularly exciting for the Earth and Planetary Science community and on behalf of JpGU, I would like to express my sincere congratulations to Dr. Manabe.
