Japan Geoscience
Union Web-Based System Migration

We are promoting
renewing our web-based system.
Personal Data Entry of JpGU members are transferred to the new
web-based system.
Transition of Personal Data for regular JpGU members is shown below.
Please be sure to make membership registration to JpGU during
August.
Of course, you can make membership registration after this
September.
But we strongly recommend completing registration during August,
because ID numbers will change and input items increase a lot after
September.
Present system is closed August 31, 2009
Personal Data Transition September 1 to 10, 2009
New web-based system starts Around September 10, 2009
Our present web-based system was adopted 10 years ago.
The number of members has increased a lot and JpGU has become a
corporate last December.
Due to the incorporation of our union, elections of representatives
and section presidents are conducted.
Promotion of international partnerships through international
sessions at JpGU Meeting is strongly demanded.
For these reasons, we are promoting renewing our web-based system.
New web-based system is different from the present one on the
following points.
1) Regular members are given ID numbers.
2) Elections of representatives and section presidents are conducted
by electromagnetic method.
3) Not only Japanese but also English based web-based systems are
adopted this time.
4) Acquisition of IDs of co-authors is not inevitable.
Please confirm that we continue to give information of Japan
Geoscience Union Meeting to non-members after data base transition
for a while.

From committees

(1)From Career
Supporting Committee of Japan Geoscience Union
We’ve done a research over Post Doctoral Problem on Earth Planetary
Science related field, and are going to make it public on our
website.
URL: http://www.jpgu.org/
Direct opinions from researchers in the post doctoral situation, the
number of post doctoral researchers, working conditions and
influence of post doctoral problems to the education system are
shown.
This information was reported in the Union Session in JpGU Meeting
2009, ‘Graduate Situation and Development of Career in Earth
Planetary Science related field.’
Post doctoral researchers’ posts have rapidly increased recently and
play important parts in researches and education.
In contrast, problems of situations of post doctoral researchers and
development of career is becoming serious and increasing concern.
Furthermore, no policies are shown to break such a stalemate of post
doctoral researchers.
What is most important now is the understanding for quantitive
comprehension and various concepts of values.
This report was made by voluntary post doctoral researchers and
young researchers together with Japan Geoscience union.
