1. Countermeasure to Swine Flu
(Important)

 Gaku Kimura (
President of Japan Geoscience Union : Tokyo University )

We, Japan Gesoscinece Union has set up the countermeasure office
against status of the H1N1 virus (swine flu).
The chief of the office is Gaku Kimura, president of Japan Geoscience
Union.
We’ve prepared thermometers and masks to take preventive measures.
Our staff is closely monitoring recent developments regarding the status
of the H1N1 virus and planning to work together with the nearby medical
institutions.
Please be sure to take care of your health condition by yourself and let
us know if you have some symptoms of the influenza.
We’re going to let you know if further countermeasures are taken place.
At this moment, the Japanese government and the Ministry of Health,
Labor and Welfare have not advised the public to restrict travel, nor
have they advised organizations to cease holding meetings even if the
level is raised to Phase 6. Should conditions change or advice from the
Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare be modified to restrict
immigration of foreigners , appropriate action will be taken to ensure
the health and safety of our members and participants for JpGU Meeting
2009.
