Ooita Prefectures, Kyushu island, southwestern Japan. The earthquakes were
located along the Futagawa and Hinagu fault zones in the Beppu-Shimabara

It resulted in many fatalities and severe damages of constructions.
Seismic activities were simultaneously activated in the other area,
Aso and Beppu, along the graben.

of the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake and related crustal activities for further studies.
We would like to also discuss lessons learned from the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake
