・主な業績
磯崎行雄氏は，野外地質調査を基本とし，室内での古生物学的，年代学的，および地球化学的分析結果を総合化することで地質学研究を進めてきた。それらは微化石を用いた付加体の研究，プレート沈み込み型造山帯の大構造の研究，最古生命の生息環境の研究，生物大量絶滅の研究，構造浸食と大陸地殻の増減の研究など多岐にわたる。それらいずれもで重要な貢献を行った。
