・受賞理由

JpGUの国際化への顕著な貢献、特にJpGUの機関誌である「Progress in Earth and Planetary Science 」の発足初期から、様々な活動を通じて同誌の国際的な知名度と評価の向上に貢献したこと、また、JpGUの年次大会で国際学術セッションを長年にわたって数多く企画したことを高く評価した。

For significant contribution to the promoting the international profile of JpGU. In particular his contributions since its foundation to promoting the society journal, Progress in Earth and Planetary Science, which were important in establishing its current high international reputation; and his contributions to raising the profile of the annual JpGU meeting through proposing and convening numerous international sessions over many years.

・主な業績

1） Progress in Earth and Planetary Science（PEPS誌）の立ち上げと将来インパクトファクターを得るための交渉に貢献。
2） PEPS誌の編集委員として論文の査読や特集号の企画に貢献。
3） PEPS誌に優れたレビュー論文や原著論文を発表。
4） 長年にわたり連合大会で固体地球科学分野の融合的な国際セッションを主催し、AGU等との連携を強化。
5） 上記の国際セッションの招待講演者等の形で、多くの海外研究者を日本のコミュニティに紹介。
