・主な業績 Major achievements (in Japanese)

丸山氏はこれまで地質学や岩石学において、200以上の論文を国際誌に公表し、それらは8000 回以上引用されている。また、国内だけでも20人以上に学位を出している。そのような数字のみならず、多くの卓抜としたアイデアは各年代の地球科学研究に強い影響を及ぼし、科学の発展を先導してきた。それらは、①日本列島の地質学的研究、アジア大陸の構造発達史、太平洋型造山運動論、②全地球ダイナミクスのモデル構築、③『生命と地球の歴史』の標準モデル、④全球凍結と海水の逆流そしてカンブリア爆発、⑤宇宙進化と生命地球環境進化、⑥『マグマオーシャンと生命誕生』仮説など枚挙にいとまがない。それらの功績はJpGUフェローにふさわしく、今後のさらなる研究の発展を期待させるものである。
