Of these, we had 5,562 presentations and the number who participated in the scientific sessions were 6,648. Especially students, including graduate, undergraduate and younger occupied 33% (2,223). We were very glad to welcome this large number of attendees at our meeting.

This year we had many special events, which were also successful and fruitful: Keynote Speech by Professor Lucy Jones and Professor Takaaki Kajita, Award Ceremony, Presidential Reception, Official party, International Mixer Luncheon, Lunchtime Special Lecture, Hyperwall presentations, 'Oshaberi' Bar -Pop-Up Talks-, AGU Town Hall Meeting, Excursion (Geofut 17, Tokyo Half-day Bus Tour, Geotours), and others.

We consider JpGU as a bottom-up society and we'd like to make an effort to keep improving the quality of our future meetings.
