Registration fee is free of charge for undergraduate students.
Please be free to join our meeting even if you don't make abstract submission.

Poster presentations by High school students

Earth planetary science related poster presentations by high school students are held every year.
This is a good chance for high school students to make poster presentations on their reseraches in front of a large audience and discuss with earth science related leading scientists.
We're waiting for your active participation.
Entry starts in January.

Student Outstanding Presentation Award

Each section of JpGU are going to give out Student Outstanding Presentation Awards.

Please apply for this award when you submit your abstract.

Q: Is the main science section related to this application?
A: If you want to apply to the A section, your main section MUST be A and MUST be a JpGU member.
In other sections, you can freely apply to any section you plan to make presentation regardless of you Main section.

Q: Can high school students apply to these awards?
A: We're sorry but they can't.

Q: Can undergraduate students apply to this award?
A: Yes, they can.

Q: I forgot to check-mark when I submitted my abstract.
A: By February 18, you can update your abstract submission with your ID and password.

Travel funding for students

Students can apply for travel support in order to participate in the JpGU Meeting 2016.
Below describes the details:

[ Eligible applicants ]
Must be a student (high school to graduate school) at the time of application.
Must be the first author of a presentation (posters included).
Will be required to provide your information to JpGU.

[ Submission period ]
January 7 (Thu) through February 25 (Thu), 2016.

[ Expected total amount ]
1,500,000 JPY.
-Domestic travel (maximum 50,000 JPY/person).
-Overseas travel (100,000 JPY/person).

[ Announcement of recipients ]
March 17, 2016.

[ Selection criteria ]
(1) Students in minority groups in nationality and gender will be given priorities.
(2) Students must secure the whole travel cost and registration fee with the aid of this support.
(3) Submitted abstract need to be recognized as adequate by the relevant JpGU Section.
(4) Applicants will provide answers to short questions.

[ Process ]
(both domestic travel and overseas travel)
(1) Provide travel expense report with receipt of travel cost and hotel cost proof at the time of participation.
(2) Payment will be made in cash in principle within the maximum amount at the time of providing travel expense report.
(3) Provide response to a questionnaire after the meeting together with a brief report (1 page A4/US Letter) of your meeting experience.
