Major Changes from 2021

・The 2022 meeting will be the first Hybrid meeting ever in JpGU history where participants can attend both in-person and online from all over the world.
・As the meeting is a hybrid event taking place in the local venue, the registration fee will be the same as the early registration fee for the full meeting in 2019, regardless of whether you attend on-site or online. The difference between regular members and non-members is expected to be more than 10,000 yen.

 

COVID-19 Safety Protocols

We will make utmost efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection at the local site during the hybrid phase. In addition to working with the venue to ensure thorough disinfection and ventilation, we ask for the cooperation of all onsite participants at the venue as follows.

・If you wish to come to the meeting, please register in advance (details on how to register will be provided as soon as they are finalized).
・It is strongly recommended that you have been fully vaccinated. If you are not vaccinated or do not wish to be vaccinated, please consider participating online.
・Please take your temperature beforehand and refrain from in-person attendance at the meeting if you have a fever or any other health problems.
・Your temperature will be checked at the entrance gate. If you are found to have a fever, we regret to inform you that you will not be admitted. Please leave on the spot and participate online.
T・emperature will also be taken at each entrance of the venue. If you are found to have a fever, you will not be admitted to the venue, but will be asked to go to the re-testing area by yourself. If fever is still detected, you will be asked to leave the venue.
・Please wear a mask (non-woven cloth is strongly recommended) in the venue.
・There will be a limit to the number of people who can enter each of the session rooms. If the room is full and you cannot enter, we will set up a separate space for network connection for online participation.
・Please note that the registration fee will not be refunded in case of no admission.
・For admission control, barcodes will be printed on the nametags issued at the registration desk, which will be read by a barcode reader at each entrance to the venue. We ask for your cooperation when you enter the venue.
・Please do not eat or drink in the venue. There will be a corner for eating and drinking, but the number of seats will be limited, so please use nearby restaurants for lunch, etc.

 

To Attend JpGU 2022

・Anyone who has a JpGU ID can register for the meeting.

・The meeting registration fee is different depending on the ID types.
Registration Fee

・It is not possible to change the type of ID once it has been used for session proposals or abstract submissions nor to obtain a duplicate ID.

・Details on how to participate in the online meeting and the in-person meeting will be announced later.
 

To Present at JpGU 2022

・Anyone who has a JpGU ID can submit an abstract and give a presentation at JpGU 2022.
JpGU ID Types & How to obtain a JpGU ID

・The presenter must register for the meeting with the same JpGU ID it was used to submit an abstract in order to upload presentation materials and attend/ access the meeting participation system.

・The meeting registration fee is different depending on the ID types.
Registration Fee
It is not possible to change the type of ID once it has been used for abstract submissions nor to obtain a multiple IDs.

If you submit your abstract using a Meeting participation ID (non-member ID), you will need to register for the meeting with the same ID.
The difference of the meeting registration fee between regular members and Meeting participation ID is expected to be more than 10,000 yen, with no discount, however, the ID cannot be changed into different type once it is used.
JpGU system is unable to integrate information associated with each ID. If you register with a different ID, you will not be able to present your abstract and/ or upload your presentation materials on the system.

Please obtain a JpGU member ID and submit your abstract using it if you would like to attend the meeting with a discount.

・Annual due should be paid to submit an abstract.

・Please refer to the Regulations on Abstract Submission before submitting your abstract(s).
 

JpGU ID Category & How to Obtain JpGU ID

How to Join JpGU/ Obtain JpGU ID

JpGU ID can be obtained at JpGU system below.
*JpGU ID category is not changeable once you propose a session or submit an abstract using it.

Fiscal Year of Membership

If you wish to receive a discount and other services that JpGU provides, please obtain a JpGU Member ID.

This ID requires the annual due payment and a member must to be up to date with the membership due to participate in the 2022 meeting as a JpGU Member.

The fiscal year of 2022 membership starts on Jan 12, 2022.
Attendees who will create the JpGU Member ID is recommended to do so after this date.
The JpGU Member ID can be created anytime but if you create the ID on or before January 11, 2022, you will be charged the annual due for 2021 year and you will also be charged the annual due of 2022 in order to participate in the meeting.

For Conveners who will propose a session

Conveners must use the same JpGU ID to propose a session, submit and abstract, purchase a discussion frame and make a meeting registration.
If a convener becomes a JpGU Member during October to December 2021 to propose a session, he/ she will be charged the annual due of 2021 fiscal year.
In additional to this, annual due for 2022 is necessary to attend the meeting in 2022.
The annual due for 2022 opens its payment in January 2022.

* Conveners who will newly acquire an ID are expected to refer to the Fee Table and learn about the difference of the rates BEFORE being a JpGU Member or creating a Nonmember ID.

AGU Members to Obtain JpGU ID

AGU members may create a JpGU ID by registering their AGU account with JpGU.
In this case, AGU member will not be charged the annual due for JpGU membership.
*The AGU membership must be up to date with the membership due of AGU.

【How to Obtain】
1. Click the "Register My AGU Account with JpGU" button below.
2. (You will be redirected to AGU website) Log in with your AGU log in credentials.
3. Follow the instructions displayed on the AGU website.
4. Your JpGU ID is sent to the registered email address.

*Regular rate of JpGU members is applied for Seniors of AGU members.

AOGS and EGU Members to Obtain JpGU ID

JpGU Members discount is applied to AOGS and EGU members.

【How to Obtain】
1. Select Nonmember
2. Enter your email address
3. Click the URL sent to your email address.
4. Checkmark AOGS or EGU when you are asked if you belong to any Societies.

Members of our Partner Unions and Society, AGU, EGU and AOGS, shall create an ID either using their membership of partner unions or as JpGU Member.
JpGU Member is provided with benefits such as discount registration fee for senior members, election, etc.

JpGU ID Category

JpGU ID (regardless of the membership category) is required to propose a session, submit an abstract and make a meeting registration.

* Please note that an individual can only hold one JpGU ID.
Once the ID holder proposes a session and/ or submit an abstract, the ID cannot be converted to another ID category.
* JpGU member discount applies for AGU, AOGS and EGU members.

About Certificates


JpGU provides the following documents for meeting registered attendees.
Please note that the documents are not issued automatically.
Certificate of attendance / presentation are issued to those who meet the following condition.
(1) Certificate of Attendance
■On-site participation: All registered attendees who have entered the local venue, Makuhari Messe, Chiba.
■Online participation: All registered attendees who have logged in to the 2022 meeting portal site (Confit) during the meeting period.

(2) Certificate of Presentation
■Oral: Papers that have been presented on-site or on Zoom.
■Poster: Papers that the upload of the presentation material (e-poster/video on demand/additional materials) has been confirmed on the meeting participation site (Confit).
*Posting abstract PDF alone does not meet the condition of the certificate of presentation. Certificate of presentation cannot be issued if the on-site or Zoom presentation (for orals) or presentation materials on Confit (for posters) cannot be confirmed.

Certificate of Presentation

Who can request All presenters
Condition of issue ■Oral: Papers that have been presented on-site or on Zoom.
■Poster: Papers that the upload of the presentation material (e-poster/video on demand/additional materials) has been confirmed on the meeting participation site (Confit)*1 .
*1 We will use the presentation material uploads data based on the record created on June 8. Please note that if you have deleted your material before June 8 or have uploaded after, we will not be able to issue you a certificate.
*Posting abstract PDF alone does not meet the condition of the certificate of presentation. Certificate of presentation cannot be issued if the on-site or Zoom presentation (for orals) or presentation materials on Confit (for posters) cannot be confirmed.
