Scope (Session Description) |
The Science Council of Japan (SCJ) published the Future Science Advancement Initiative in 2023 and is now planning to follow up on this initiative and revise it to the 2026 version after a new public call for proposals. The Earth and Planetary Science Committee (EPSC) of the Science Council of Japan, in collaboration with JpGU, compiled the "Medium- to Long-term Scientific Research Strategies" (former large research projects) related to earth and planetary science that are included in this initiative. The Grand Vision that encompasses these mid- and long-term strategies reflects the "Science and Dreams Roadmap 2020 in the Field of Earth and Planetary Sciences," which was also prepared by the EPSC/SCJ-JpGU collaboration. The purpose of this union session is to share with the community the current status of the future science promotion concept, including the new mid- and long-term strategy proposal and roadmap revision related to earth and planetary science, and to discuss the latest vision for the future and its realization. |
