Ticket Type

Full Meeting Pass Full access to all sessions and exhibition/poster hall for 5 days.
One Day Pass Full access to all sessions and exhibition/poster hall for one day. (the issued date)
Family pass A family member is parents, a spouse, or a child not in occupation related to geoscience.
Family passes can only be purchased on-site at the registration desk located on the 1st floor of International Conference Hall.
* Please be noted that the JpGU ID holder must accompany their family member when purchasing the pass.

Social Media Poster Presentation

Social Media Poster Presentation is the presentation style that has been in trial since 2019.

To participate in this style, separate application must be submitted.
Registration fee (one-day) is required to participate.
See HERE for details.

*Individuals from less wealthy countries with JpGU membership ID can submit application to it.
Please note that undergraduate students are not eligible for this presentation style.

All participants need to make a registration in order to attend the 2020 meeting.
Early-bird registration rate applies to the registration and payment completed until May 8th at 11:59 pm (JST).
We encourage attendees to register early and receive a discount.

AGU, AOGS and EGU members receive a JpGU member discounted rate.

Discounts

JpGU Member Discount JpGU, AGU, EGU and AOGS members are able to register for the meeting at a discounted rate.
*The standard rates apply to Nonmembers (6-digit IDs starting from 20-).
*After submitting an abstract, the ID category (from Nonmember to JpGU Member or vice versa) cannot be converted.
Early-bird Discount Registrations and payments completed by May 8 receive the early-bird discount.
Student Discount Graduate students whose student status verification can be confirmed, receive the discounted rate on various fees.
K-12 Teacher Discount K-12 teacher is elementary, junior and high school teachers.
If you are a K-12 teacher and would like to receive a discount, please make sure that your register your affiliation.
*We may contact you if your registration information is not clear enough.
*Please note that university/college teachers (professors) are not qualified as K-12 teachers.
Senior Discount Seniors* of JpGU(members over 70 of age) and AGU members are offered discount on the registration fee.
This discount is not automatically applied unless you are registered under the proper membership category.
・If you are over 70 of age at the time of meeting participation and hold a JpGU membership (not nonmember ID), please change your membership category to "Senior" by yourself from My Account Page.
Seniors of AGU do not need any change if their senior category is approved by AGU.
*Registration of date of birth is required if you want to change your category status to Senior.
・Free registration to seniors is no longer available.

Open Day to Public

Sunday, May 24, so called the "Public Day", is the free open day to public attendance.
Public participants have a free access to Public sessions and exhibit hall.
The registration to attend the Public Day will open in April.
Please be noted that public participants are only available to attend Public Sessions.
If you are interested in attending regular sessions, the meeting registration (with charge) is required.

Undergraduate students and younger can attend the full meeting free of charge by acquiring a JpGU ID for free.
Students are requested to present the registration e-ticket that has a unique barcode and their student IDs written in either English or Japanese at the check-in counter in order to get a badge.
Students who do not present their student IDs, may not be able to enter the site free of charge.

*Change on the Registration Fee of Senior Members
Until 2018 meeting, JpGU offered a free registration to seniors of JpGU Members and AGU members at the year of the joint meetings. However, from 2019 meeting the policy has changed that senior members will also be charged a discounted rate to attend the meeting.
Thank you for your understanding to our new policy.

Meeting Registration Steps

Registration must be made through the JpGU online system.
After logging in with your JpGU ID and password, open the "JpGU Meeting" tab on the left side menu and click "Meeting Registration" button.


*2020 annual due (only JpGU Members) needs to be paid in order to make a meeting registration.
If the annual due of 2019 is not settled, please complete it first.

Official Photographing and Filming at the Meeting

At the meeting, our official photographer will
・film some sessions
・film the site using a fixed point camera
・photograph the session, exhibit hall and convention hall


The data collected here are only to be used by JpGU as meeting record, marketing and meeting promotion purpose.
* For meeting promotion, we will make materials such as brochure, meeting website and posters.
In case of publishing any recordings, we will directly contact the presenters and ask for permission.

If you do not feel comfortable in your photo to be used (may be used), please contact our staff at room #203.
*Please note that we cannot exclude the use of pictures taken before you contact us.

After Registration

Before Attending

The registration confirmation email is sent to your registered email address right after you complete a meeting registration.
Please present the bar code in PNG file that is enclosed in the registration confirmation email or the registration e-ticket in PDF that can be generated from your JpGU members page at the check-in counter in order to print your name badge.
*The bar code sent in the registration email and shown in the registration e-ticket is the same.

*Only registration does not enables you to enter the conference site.
Please do not forget to bring the registration confirmation email or the registration e-ticket, in print or on your phone.
*Registration e-ticket is different from the receipt. You cannot print your badge by presenting the meeting registration receipt.

Change of Ticket Type

The purchased one-day pass can be upgraded to the full meeting pass through your JpGU member account page.
*Please note that full meeting pass can not be converted to an one-day pass.

Cancellation of Meeting Registration

We issue a refund of the meeting registration fee after deducting commission to those who completed the payment and requested a cancellation from the designated form below by May 8 (FRI) at 11:59pm JST.

Please note that no requests are accepted on and after May 9.

Check-in on the Day

Details will be open on March 14.

Crisis Management Procedure

If there is a natural disaster or other event that presents a danger to meeting participants then the JpGU Meeting Organizing Committee and/or the JpGU Board of Directors may decide to change the dates of the meeting or to extend or cancel the meeting.

In the event that the meeting is cancelled or rescheduled this will be announced on the JpGU homepage and all registered participants will be informed by email. Should the meeting be cancelled we would like you to understand that there may be some circumstances when it will be impossible to refund abstract submission fees and meeting registration fees.

Events which might affect the meeting include (i) Emergency Warnings (extreme natural hazard) issued for the region where the meeting is held; (ii) a natural disaster that presents a danger to meeting participants; (iii) any event that prevents large numbers of meeting participants from attending the meeting; and (iv) a large accident or other emergency during the time when the meeting is being held.
