Scope
Dynamics of glaciers and ice sheets are dictated by processes occurring at the ice-bed interface, which are in turn determined by the ice-basal topography and character, and exchange of water and heat with the crust beneath. Also, biogeochemistry in water, sediments and rocks beneath ice sheets provide key clues of past climate and ice-sheet changes. Such subglacial environments are, however, difficult to observe or sample due to thick ice cover. We invite submissions that present recent advances in understanding of subglacial environments and processes made with geophysical observations, direct sampling and instrumentation, laboratory experiments or modeling. We particularly welcome studies exploring innovative methods and/or multidisciplinary approaches.
