Scope Tropical cyclones (TCs) cause severe disasters in many countries by torrential rainfall, destructive winds, and storm surge. Intense TCs caused severe damages in many areas. As the surface temperature of ocean, - the energy source of TC -, increases with global warming, the change of TC activity in the future warming climate is expected. Therefore, it is an urgent problem to obtain deeper understanding of mechanisms and associated phenomena on TC genesis, intensity, structure, and motion, more accurate mid- to long-term projections of the TC parameters, and advanced observations and better forecast of TC. The TC researches are important for disaster prevention as well as the academic development, and hence do contribute to the future progress of earth and planetary science. It is also important to quickly share knowledge through immediate case studies. In 2025, several typhoons formed and developed in the South China Sea and near 30-degree North, and penetration flight observations across the eye of Typhoon Neoguri (2025) were conducted for two consecutive days. In this session, we welcome papers on various aspects and fields of TC studies. We also welcome research on the use of AI for typhoon research, forecasting and prediction. We hope that the session will provide an opportunity to establish new researches among researchers in different fields, and a new direction for future TC researches.
