Scope
Volcanism is a natural phenomenon that sometimes causes disasters, but volcanology is not yet at the stage of reliably predicting its sequence. In order to better understand the mechanism of volcanic activity and enable prediction of its sequence in the future, this session will review the current state of volcanic monitoring and discuss how volcanology and technology can contribute to activity assessment. The subjects are volcanic monitoring technology, analysis technology for contributing to activity evaluation, and case studies that contribute to the interpretation of volcanic activity. We also welcome monitoring cases at individual volcanoes.
