Session ID S-EM13
Title Geomagnetism, paleomagnetism and rock magnetism
Short Title Geomagnetism
Main Convener Name Yoichi Usui
Affiliation Kanazawa University
Co-Convener 1 Name Noriko Kawamura
Affiliation Japan Coast Guard Academy
Session Language

Scope
We will discuss magnetism associated with minerals, the Earth, and beyond. This session will mainly cover the following topics: (1) the magnetic fields of the Earth and other planets, (2) paleomagnetic field variations, (3) numerical and laboratory studies of magnetic field generation, (4) magnetic properties of rocks, minerals, and other materials, (5) surface magnetic anomalies of the Earth and extraterrestrial bodies, and (6) tectonics and paleoclimate reconstructions based on magnetic measurements. We also welcome (7) related developments in measurement methods and data analysis. We encourage contributions that stimulate interdisciplinary collaborations toward establishing the SEDI-Japan community. Presentations and discussions will be in Japanese or English.
