Scope
In this session we invite research presentations on agricultural activities and their impact on the environment, air pollution from agricultural residue burning and its impact on human health, and causes and countermeasures of agricultural residue burning. The burning of agricultural residues is widely practiced all over the world, and its carbon emission is estimated to be about a quarter of that from the total biomass burning. It is also a cause of air pollution and health hazards in many countries, making it an environmental problem that cannot be ignored. The objective of this session is to develop interdisciplinary research that links in-situ measurements of air pollutants and information on fire detection with field surveys on agricultural activities. We welcome a wide range of interdisciplinary research, including related research that explores pathways to solve this problem.
