Japan Geoscience Union Meeting 2022
JpGU Oral Time Slot Allocation Formula
NOTES on Slot Allocation Formula
・In 2021, the number of submitted abstracts decreased significantly due to the COVID-19 spread. For 2022, we will use the formula we adopted until 2019, expecting that the number of submissions may recover to the level of past meetings before the pandemic.
Conveners will be asked to select the closest scale (expected number of presentations) for JpGU 2022 session among the past three years (2021, 2020 or 2019). The initial slots will be allocated based on the actual number of abstracts of the selected year.
・9 presentations are required to secure an oral slot.
Time Slot Allocation Formula (as of OCT/1/2021)
Number or oral time slots assigned =(S + 3) / 2 / 6
S= The number of submitted abstracts (both orals and posters) at the past meeting
*S≥9 Rounding down the decimal point, S≤8 rounded to the nearest decimal point
The oral time slots are assigned to each session based on the formula above.
Newly proposed sessions initially receive one oral slot, however, may request for an additional (total up to 2 slots).
