Session Language J
Scope This session focuses on the evolution of ecosystem and physical-chemical environments in the pelagic realm, including discussions on all aspects of pelagic biota covering evolution, biostratigraphy, biochronology, and biogeography, which are important to the reconstruction of the spatiotemporal framework in the pelagic realm. Reconstructions of plate configuration through time are included in the scope of this session. Biological, geochemical, and sedimentological approaches to the pelagic environments are welcomed. Science on form encompasses everything from plankton to outer space. We will discuss the evolution of the Panthalassa-Pacific Ocean since the scientific research vessel JOIDES Resolution comes back to the Pacific in 2023-2024.
