ScopeThe Kuroshio has taken large meander path since the end of August 2017. Although it is unknown whether it is continuing at the time of the JpGU meeting, this notable event of the coastal area south of Japan after 12 years later from the last one has already attracted societal interests. In this session, behaviors, dynamics, influences, comparisons with past cases, etc. are discussed. Presentations from various perspectives of ocean physics, biology, chemistry, and meteorology are welcome.
