Scope Ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) metamorphic rocks are widely distributed in the Collision zone belt such as western Alps and Pakistan Himalaya. Previous UHP researches have revealed following important discoveries; 1) recycling of crustal material down to deep mantle, 2) transportation of seawater into mantle, 3) carbon transport and storage into deep mantle. Study of UHP rocks also have brought the discoveries of new minerals stable or metastable at UHP conditions. We will welcome Prof. Yoshi Ogasawara who discovered Maruymaiite, and Dr. T.F. Yui who found Kochetavite as keynote speakers. Prof. Shige Maruyama who was the leader of Kokchetav UHP research project, will be also invited as a special speaker who will give a perspective view of future UHP research.
