Scope |
Soil has significant impacts on earth surface environment beyond agricultural fields. Under the rapid environmental changes such as from deforestation, loss of biodiversity, and climate change, increasing attention has been paid on soil's function to regulate carbon, nutrient, and water cycle. The goal of this new session is to explore the role, function, and new frontiers in soil science from the context of earth system science. To achieve this, we plan to have an oral session consisting of leading scientists from geomorphology, biogeochemistry, ecosystem ecology, forest hydrology, organic geochemistry and pedology and a poster session on these subjects. We welcome all participants who are interested in soil processes and functions in earth system.
