Scope |
It is necessary to clarify the generating process of large shallow intraplate earthquakes, in order to develop the method that forecasts the occurrence of large intraplate earthquakes based on their physics. In this session, we will investigate the generating process of large intraplate earthquakes by integrating multidiscipline approach of geophysics and geology. In addition, the 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquake triggered widespread seismicity in the NE Japan, due to the large extensional stress perturbations. We welcome papers on researches of the induced seismicity and the crustal response to mega-thrust events.
