Scope Continental crust is the key and unique system of the Earth, thus its formation and growth strongly affect not only dynamics and evolution of the solid Earth but also climate and biological evolution on the surface. However, human knowledge is too far from the understanding. Previous works emphasized that the continental crust has progressively grown through geologic time. But, recent geology of Archean terranes, geochemistry of detrital materials and comprehensive study of subduction zone allow us to build a new concept of true continental growth. In this session, we welcome wide range topics of geology, mineralogy, geochemistry, geophysics, experimental petrology and surface environmental evolution for more comprehensive study of the continental growth from the Hadean to the present.
