{"id":1141,"date":"2011-11-04T17:39:07","date_gmt":"2011-11-04T08:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jpgu.org\/en\/?p=1141"},"modified":"2018-06-25T17:47:13","modified_gmt":"2018-06-25T08:47:13","slug":"announcement-of-section-president-election-of-japan-geoscience-union","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jpgu.org\/en\/news\/2011\/1141\/","title":{"rendered":"2011 Announcement of Section President Election of Japan Geoscience Union"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Public Announcement of Section President Election of Japan Geoscience Union<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Japan Geoscience Union has five science sections.<br \/>They are Space and Planetary Sciences, Atmospheric, Ocean and Environmental Sciences, Human Geosciences, Solid Earth Sciences and Biogeosciences sections.<\/p>\n<p>Each section mainly consists of representatives.<br \/>These five section boards together with Union Science Board promote deveoping earth planetary sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives elected by this representative election are eligible to be candidates and section presidents are<br \/>to be elected by the votes of individual members.<\/p>\n<p>Specific election system is shown on &#8220;Section President Election Procedure&#8221; shown below.<br \/>Please be sure to submit &#8220;Candidacy Notification Form&#8221; or &#8220;Recommendation Notification Form&#8221; for Section president<br \/>by the due date.<\/p>\n<p>November 4, 2011<br \/>Japan Geoscience Union<br \/>Election Board<br \/>Chair: Hiroyuki Tsubomoto<br \/>Members: Mie Ichihara, Masanao Shinohara, Michinari Sunamura, Masahiro Takagi, Shogo Tachibana<\/p>\n<p>Section President Election Operating Procedure<br \/>1. Voters<br \/>Members who have finished membership subscription by the deadline of Section President Election (December 19, 2011)<br \/>are eligible to vote to one candidate of their registered Main Science Section.<br \/>2. Cnandidates<br \/>Representatives except for those of General (Education and Outreach) can be candidates of their corresponding science sections.<br \/>Representatives of General (Education and Outreach) can be a candidae of section presidents of their main science section.<br \/>Candidates can apply directly by themselves and be recommended by others.<\/p>\n<p>3. Term<br \/>The term of section presidents is 2 years from June 1 in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>4. How to be candidates<br \/>There are two ways to be candidates.  One is to apply directly by themselves and the other is to be recommended by other members with confirmation of the candidate.<br \/>Please be sure to submit &#8220;Candidacy Notification Form&#8221; or &#8220;Recommendation Notification Form&#8221; for Section president<br \/>by the due date.<\/p>\n<p>5. Submission of Candidacy Form<br \/>Please be sure to download the form from our website and complete submission by the due date.
