Public Announcement of Section President Election of Japan Geoscience Union<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Japan Geoscience Union has five science sections. They are Space and Planetary Sciences, Atmospheric
and Hydrospheric Sciences, Human Geosciences, Solid Earth Sciences and Biogeosciences sections.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Each section has its board, which mainly consists of representatives.These five section boards together with Union Science Board promote deveoping earth planetary sciences.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Representatives elected by this representative election are eligible to be candidates and section presidents are to be elected by the votes of individual members.<\/p>\n

Specific election system is shown on “Section President Election Procedure” shown below.
Please be sure to submit “Candidacy Notification Form” or “Recommendation Notification Form” for Section president by the due date.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Section President Election Operating Procedure
1. Voters
Members who have finished membership subscription by the deadline of Section President Election (December 16, 2013) are eligible to vote to one candidate of their registered Main Science Section.<\/p>\n

2. Cnandidates
Representatives except for those of General (Education and Outreach) can be candidates of their corresponding science sections.
Representatives of General (Education and Outreach) can be a candidae of section presidents of their main science section.
Candidates can apply directly by themselves and be recommended by others.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

3. Term
The term of section presidents is 2 years from June 1 in 2014.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

4. How to be candidates
There are two ways to be candidates. One is to apply directly by themselves and the other is to be recommended by other members with confirmation of the candidate.
Please be sure to submit “Candidacy Notification Form” or “Recommendation Notification Form” for Section president by the due date.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

5. Submission of Candidacy Form
Please be sure to complete submission by the due date. (November 15, 2013, JST)<\/p>\n

Submission is to be send by email to JpGU Office (office[at]jpgu.org) by copy and paste the “Candidacy forms” below.<\/p>\n

In case of reccommendation, “Recommendation Form” from the recommender and “Consent letter for Recommendation<\/span>” are to be submitted.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

6.Time schedule of Election
Public Announcement of Sedction President Election November 1, Friday
Start to accept candidates November 5, Tuesday
Close to accept candidates November 15, Friday
Start voting for Section President Election November 25, Monday
Close voting for Section President Election December 16, Monday
Vote counting and Reporting the result December 20, Thursday<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

7. How to vote
Members who have finished membership subscription by the close of voting for Section President Election (December 16, Monday)
can cast a vote among the list from our website.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
