Public Announcement of Section President Election of Japan Geoscience Union in 2015

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Japan Geoscience Union has five science sections. They are Space and Planetary Sciences, Atmospheric and Hydrospheric Sciences, Human Geosciences, Solid Earth Sciences and Biogeosciences sections.<\/p>\n

Each section has its board, which mainly consists of representatives. These five section boards together with Union Science Board promote developing earth planetary sciences.<\/p>\n

Representatives elected by this representative election are eligible to be candidates and section presidents are to be elected by the votes of individual members.<\/p>\n

Specific election system is shown on “Section President Election Procedure” shown below.<\/p>\n

Please be sure to submit “Candidacy Notification Form” or “Recommendation Notification Form” for Section president by the due date.<\/p>\n

Section President Election Operating Procedure<\/p>\n

1. Voters<\/p>\n

Members who have finished membership subscription by the deadline of Section President Election (December 8, 2015) are eligible to vote to one candidate of their registered Main Science Section.<\/p>\n

\n

2. Cnandidates<\/p>\n

Representatives except for those of General (Education and Outreach) can be candidates of their corresponding science sections.<\/p>\n

Representatives of General (Education and Outreach) can be a candidate of section presidents of their main science section.<\/p>\n

Candidates can apply directly by themselves and be recommended by others.<\/p>\n

\n

3. Term<\/p>\n

The term of section presidents is 2 years from June 1 in 2016.<\/p>\n

\n

4. How to be candidates<\/p>\n

There are two ways to be candidates. One is to apply directly by themselves and the other is to be recommended by other members with confirmation of the candidate.<\/p>\n

Please be sure to submit “Candidacy Notification Form” or “Recommendation Notification Form” for Section president by the due date.<\/p>\n

5. Submission of Candidacy Form<\/p>\n

Please be sure to complete submission by the due date. (November 11, 2015, JST)<\/p>\n

Submission is to be send by email to office@jpgu.org and senkan@jpgu.org attached with “Candidacy forms” below.<\/p>\n

In case of recommendation, “Recommendation Form” from the recommender and “Consent letter for Recommendation” are to be submitted.<\/p>\n

6.Time schedule of Election<\/p>\n

Public Announcement of Section President Election November 2, Monday<\/p>\n

Start to accept candidates November 5, Thursday<\/p>\n

Close to accept candidates November 16, Monday<\/p>\n

Start voting for Section President Election November 25, Wednesday<\/p>\n

Close voting for Section President Election December 8, Tuesday<\/p>\n

Vote counting and Reporting the result December 14, Monday<\/p>\n

7. How to vote<\/p>\n

Members who have finished membership subscription by the close of voting for Section President Election (December 8, Monday) can cast a vote among the list from our website.<\/p>\n

If the number of candidates doesn\u2019t exceed the fixed number, election is not conducted and candidates become successful automatically.<\/p>\n
