The number of candidates for Electoral Zone &#8220;Space and Planetary Sciences&#8221; was 22, then it did not exceed the fixed number 23.\r\nTherefore, 22 persons of candidates for this Electoral Zone will automatically be elected without any votes being cast, and JpGU will hold the by-election for the Electoral Zone &#8220;Space and Planetary Sciences&#8221; based on Detailed Regulations of the Representative Election Article.<br><br>\r\n\r\nPeriod for declaration of candidacy starts at 3pm Friday September 15th and ends at 5pm Thursday 21st 2023, and other rules including period for voting and how to vote will be equivalent to the 2024 JpGU Representative Election.<br><br>\r\n\r\nThe by-elections for the &#8220;Space and Planetary Sciences&#8221; and regular election for other Electoral Zones are held during same term and on the same online system.\r\n<br><br>\r\n\r\nSeptember 15th 2023<br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\nElection Administration Committee members<br>\r\nChair Sohsuke Ohno<br>\r\nMasanori Kaneko, Masayuki Nishi, Toru Nozawa, Masahiko Sato, Hiroshi Shimazu<br>\r\n\r\n<br><br>\r\n<hr>\r\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>The by-election for 2024 JpGU Representative Election Rules and Procedures<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p align=\"left\">\r\n1.Voters<br>\r\nAnyone who is approved as JpGU member until the day before the official announcement of representative election and belonging to Electoral Zone &#8220;Space and Planetary Sciences&#8221; is eligible to vote.<br><br>\r\n\r\n2.Candidates<br>\r\nAnyone who is approved as JpGU member until the day before the official announcement of representative election and belonging to Electoral Zone &#8220;Space and Planetary Sciences&#8221; is eligible to be a candidate in the representative election.<br><br>\r\n\r\n3.Term<br>\r\nThose who are elected will serve a two year term starting from April 1st 2024 to March 31st 2026.<br><br>\r\n\r\n4.Standing as a candidate<br>\r\nJpGU members may put themselves forward as candidates and they may also recommend other members who they think would make good candidates. <br>\r\nMembers who recommend others for candidacy must obtain consent from their proposed candidate before submitting their recommendation. \r\nBoth submitting oneself as a candidate and recommending others is done online using the JpGU Member&#8217;s Site.<br><br>\r\n\r\n5.Deadline for Submission of Candidacy<br>\r\nThose who wish to be a candidate or to recommend others as candidates must submit the relevant online form by 5pm Japan time on September 21st 2023.<br>\r\n<br>\r\n6.Number of Representatives to be Elected<br>\r\nSpace and Planetary Sciences: 1<br>\r\n<br>\r\n7.
