スコープ和文発展途上国の工業化による雇用機会増大は農村社会から都市社会への人口移動をもたらし、かつてないほどの水ストレスを引き起こすとともに、水環境をさらに悪化させ、経済の持続可能な成長を妨げている。そこで、このセッションでは、多様な地理的背景の下で活動する学界、産業界、政府の研究者に共通のプラットフォームを提供しながら、地表面および地下の水資源と社会・環境との関係についての最近の科学的成果を議論する。具体的には、以下のテーマに幅広く関係するプレゼンテーションを歓迎する。
1）地表水と地下水資源、それらの汚染と相互作用
2）表面近傍および地中のプロセスの数値的および物理的モデリング
3）水資源のガバナンスと管理に対する社会的影響
4）地下水に対する都市化の影響：量と質の両側面
5）水資源の汚染が人間の健康に及ぼす影響の定量化
英文Major demographic transition of the developing world from rural to urban societies because of the industrialization and associated employment opportunities has caused unprecedented stress on the available water resources. Massive population growth has further deteriorated the prevailing environmental conditions and has hindered the sustainable growth of the economies. The scope of this session is to create an interdisciplinary forum by providing a common platform for the researchers from academia, industry, and the government belonging to wide geographic diversity to discuss recent scientific results of surface water and groundwater resources related to the society and the enirvironment. More specifically, this session welcomes the presentations related to but not limited to:

1) Surface water and groundwater resources, their pollution, and interaction.
2) Numerical and physical modelling of near-surface and subsurface processes.
3) Societal influence on the governance and management of water resources.
4) Impacts of urbanization on groundwater: quantity and quality aspects.
5) Quantifying the influence of water resources' pollution on human health.
