スコープ和文Geoparks, geosites, World Heritage Sites, and historical structures represent an important natural and/or cultural heritage. They have been exposed to weathering in the geological and human time scale, so that the rocks and other geological materials they are made of, may often face severe deterioration. In order to preserve those sites, conservation measures should be considered. Several studies were carried out on this topic, involving a wide range of research fields: geomorphology, engineering geology, geoarchaeology, conservation science, geoconservation, materials science, petrophysics, geochemistry, geotechnical engineering, etc. However, our knowledge on many aspects is still limited. This session welcomes contributions presenting original research, discussions, as well as case studies, on documentation, measurement and monitoring techniques, experimental procedures, predictive models, damage assessment, etc. Papers from all the research fields dealing with the broad topic of geosites and cultural heritage are invited.
