About Submissions and Presentations by High School and Junior High School Students

All high school and junior high school students have the right to submit and present at all general sessions,as well as all other participants.*1
However, since authors cannot specify the presentation date and time. Presentations may be scheduled during weekday daytime hours.
Please avoid canceling or failing to attend after acceptance your abstract, as this is detrimental to all meeting participants and undermines the credibility of the contributor.

*1:Some sessions, such as Union Sessions, include only invited speakers selected by the convener. Please check this page for sessions with restricted submissions.

Sessions for High School and Junior High School Studentsについて

We organizes public sessions*2 in addition to general sessions, to provide opportunities for high school and junior high school students to engage in discussions with researchers.

At the JpGU-AGU 2026, the following two public sessions will be held on Sunday.

O-12 Senior high school student poster presentations

O-13 International Poster Session for high school students

As the rules for presentations are different for each sessions, please carefully review the guidelines before your presentation proposal.
*Submitting the same research to two sessions is prohibited.
*It is possible to submit different studies to each session.
*Sessions O-12 and O-13 are poster-only sessions. Oral presentations are not permitted. If you wish to give an oral presentation, please submit to a general session.
However, the conveners will decide whether to assign your submission as an oral presentation or a poster presentation. Submissions specifying only an oral presentation are not permitted.

Submission Guidelines for Sessions for High School and Junior High School Students

O-12 Senior high school student poster presentations
- The first author must be a high school student.
- Multiple presenters can be registered for a submission.
- Junior high school students can be included as co-authors.
- Teachers and external researchers cannot be included as co-authors.
→If your co-authors include teachers or external researchers, please consider submitting to the general session or the O-13 session.
- Presenters can use both Japanese and English.
- Presentations will be reviewed, and awards will be given to outstanding presentations.
*There is a limit to the number of presentations that can be reviewed. If there are many submissions, a preliminary selection of presentations to be reviewed will be made.

O-13 International Poster Session for high school students
- The first author is a junior high or high school student. Single-author papers by juniors high school students may also be submitted.
- タPresentations must be in English only. Posters must also be prepared in English.
- There is no award selection.

*2:Public sessions are free for anyone to attend, whether as a presenter or an observer. They will be held on the holiday during the conference period (Sunday, May 24, 2026 for the 2026 meeting).

Session Submission Period for High School and Junior High School Students

The submission period for O-12 and O-13 differs for the general session. Additionally, you must submit your presentation application in advance.

*If a researcher is included as a co-author and you wish to present in Japanese, presentation is only possible in the general session. In that case, please note that the final submission deadline is February 17 at 5:00 PM.
*Presentations in general sessions require a submission fee, even for junior high and high school students.
*For presentations in general sessions, junior high and high school student presenters are exempt from the registration fee to enter the venue. However, parents accompanying or observing students must pay the registration fee (online participation incurs the same registration fee as on-site attendance). Elementary, junior high, and high school teachers can participate free of charge by registering as members, but membership requires an annual fee.
