ScopeSeismic wave provides plenty of information on heterogeneities of the earth's subsurface and the excitation sources. To understand such information, knowledges from various research fields are necessary: e.g., mathematical/numerical studies based on wave theory, physical experiments using rock samples, and data analysis. Furthermore, recent developments of observational techniques have allowed us to investigate various wave phenomena, such as seismic waves, acoustic waves, traveling ionospheric disturbances, and tsunamis. Nowadays, many of these data and analysis tools have been openly available. Comprehensive understanding of these wave phenomena will lead to develop new research fields. This session widely invites presentations about the theoretical and applied studies related to seismic and other geophysical waves, and aims to deepen our understanding of these wave phenomena in the solid earth.
