Scope | Dr. Syukuro Manabe, a winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physics, will give a lecture in Japanese. Dr. Manabe has been the world leader in basic research on climate science by developing climate models at the NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory since the 1960s. He also visited Japan frequently in the 1980s and 1990s to support the launch of climate model development in Japan.
