We really appreciate the many session proposals for the JpGU Meeting 2021.
We are pleased to announce the dates and format of the meeting, which we have been discussing over the past months.
[Basic plan]
MAY 30 (SUN) - JUNE 1 (TUE): On-site (Pacifico Yokohama North)
mainly poster presentations, with selected oral presentations and events
JUNE 3 (THU)-JUNE 6 (SUN): Virtual
oral and poster presentations, and events
[Short on-site meeting case]
MAY 30 (SUN) - MAY 31 (MON): On-site (Pacifico Yokohama North)
mainly poster presentations, with selected oral presentations and events
JUNE 2 (WED)-JUNE 6 (SUN): Virtual
oral and poster presentations, and events
[Full virtual meeting case]
JUNE 2 (WED)-JUNE 6 (SUN): Virtual
oral and poster presentations, and events
- Sundays during the period (5/30 and 6/6) are scheduled to be public days.
- We will ask the poster presenters to begin to display their online posters a few days before the meeting period.
- We have scheduled a day with no presentations in between the on-site and online parts of the meeting to allow for travel.
- All the posters will be posted online, and those who wish to present in person will be allowed to do so on-site.
- There will be core times for both on-site and online poster presentations.
- On-site selected oral presentations are likely to be restricted to high profile events such as plenary lectures and union session presentations (we do not currently anticipate regular session oral presentations) for which there will also be an online webcast.
- Oral presentations in the regular sessions are planned to be online using Zoom or other tools because we consider the online presentations are more advantageous than on-site presentations.
- A decision on limiting or cancelling the on-site part of the meeting will be made by the end of April 2021, based on the status of the Covid-19 pandemic and the expected number of visitors. Depending on the status of the Covid-19 pandemic, there remains a possibility that the on-site part of the meeting may be cancelled immediately before it is due to start.
- Even if the on-site part of the meeting has to be limited or cancelled, we do not plan to change the program of the June 3-6 online oral presentations and poster core-times.
We will make every effort to ensure the meeting is as safe and fulfilling as possible.
Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation.
