Scope Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but the necessary foundation for our society to harness all the potential of our talented minds to develop solutions for a sustainable future. The existence of underrepresentation of different groups (culture, country, and gender) remains a reality, which threatens to get the most value from research investments across STEM disciplines around the world including geosciences. In order to improve it, numerous actions have been initiated and support has been developed. Despite this, the progress is slow and the barriers complex, and the under-representation of "minorities of researchers", such as women and young researchers remains a reality. The "disaster" caused by COVID-19 forced us to re-organise our research environment and lifestyle.

It is easy to infer that many research vulnerable groups are facing additional challenges due to this pandemic. On the other hand, it is also an opportunity to reassess work-life balance. In this session, we aim at creating a platform to present reorganizational measures associated with the COVID-19, discuss their impacts, and propose emergency and creative solutions for the purpose of utilizing them in future activities.
