| Scope | In 2018 Union Sessions U-7 "Future Earth-GRPs integration for global environmental research" was held with 12 speakers representing all the Future Earth (FE) and WCRP related committees of the /Science Council of Japan/. There, the participants could share the newest information about recent scientific activities and achievements from the /FE-Global Research Programs/ and /WCRP core projects/ (/FE/WCRP projects/) covering broad range of sciences on lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, biosphere and human-geospherein Asian region and discussed plausible plans as regional initiatives to be reflected in the future agenda of /Future Earth Global/. Following the previous meeting, this session is aimed to provide the participants with opportunities of sharing updated information of /FE/WCRP projects/ and about related scientific activities linked with societal activities against global environmental issues via FE-Kowledge Action Network (/KAN/)and /Future Earth Global/. This year, the session mainly focuses on the following topics: - How to cope with Climate Change and environment issues in Asia-Pacific region. - Mitigation, Adaptation and Transfomation towards sustainable Future ofAsia-Pacific region. | |
