JpGU offers a discount in registration fee and annual due for students.
The rates depend on the grade of the student.
Please refer to the details below.

Poster Presentation By High School Students

One of the goals of our meetings is to encourage young students to enhance their knowledges in geoscience and presentation skills.
Poster presentation is one of the opportunity for high school students to improve their skills.
By participating in poster presentation, students get positive comments from great scientists and have a chance to make presentations to a large audience.
Posters not only in Japanese but also in English are also welcomed.

Entry is to be open in mid-January .

Outstanding Student Presentation Award (OSPA)

Outstanding Student Presentation Award(OSPA) is given to the top student presenters in each section.
Please refer to the OSPA entry regulation before applying.

Student Travel Support

JpGU provides a partial travel support for students who are planning to attend and present at the 2018 meeting.

[Amount]
Maximum 50,000 JPY for domestic attendees
Maximum 100,000 JPY for international attendees
* The amount the recipients are given depends on whether the students are traveling from.
(Not by nationality)

[Submission Period]
January 10 - February 21, 2018

[Announcement of Recipients]
The results are planned to be announced on February 26.

[Eligibility]
-Must be student (high school - graduate student) at the time of application
-Must be the first author and presenter of either oral or poster presentation

[Selection Criteria]
(1) Students in minority groups in nationality and gender will be given priorities.
(2) Students must secure the rest of the traveling costs (registration fee etc.) by themselves.
(3) Submitted abstract need to be recognized as adequate by the relevant JpGU Section.
(4) The entry form must be fully answered.

[Important Notes]
- This travel support can only be used for transportation and accommodation fees.
(Unavailable: Registration fee, abstract submission fee, meals etc.)
The original receipts are required when receiving the grant.
-Submissions after the confirmation of this grant is not accepted.
-The travel costs will be reimbursed at the meeting. Please pay all the fees in advance by yourself.

[ Steps to Receive a Grant ]
(both domestic travel and overseas travel)

-Submit your application ▶ Apply for Travel Support Submission has been clesed

-Provide fully filled travel expense report(docx) (designated form) with original receipt of travel and hotel costs at the time of participation.
-Grants are provided in cash at the meeting in exchange for the proofs mentioned above.

- Respond to a questionnaire and provide a brief meeting experience report (1 page A4/US Letter) in English.

Student Work Program

Why don’t you earn money while attending the 2018 meeting?
JpGU offers a part time job to students reside in Japan during the meeting.
More information on part time job will be informed on JpGU mailnews.

Application starts in the end of March.
