ScopeIn March 2015, Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) was adopted and endorsed by the UN General Assembly. The aim of SFDRR is substantial reduction of disaster risk and losses in lives, livelihoods and health and in the economic, physical, social, cultural and environmental assets of persons, businesses, communities and countries. SFDRR proposed seven targets and four priority actions: Understanding disaster risk, Strengthening disaster risk governance to manage disaster risk, Investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience, and Enhancing disaster preparedness for effective response and to "Build Back Better" in recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction. This session is for various stakeholders to report and exchange information on the integrated research activities to reduce disaster risk from natural hazards such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, or typhoons.
