| Scope |
Asia-Pacific climate affects billions of people and is marked by spatiotemporal interactions among a broad range of variabilities. This session aims to promote cross-cutting discussion over multitude of phenomena, including diurnal, monsoon intraseasonal and interannual variations, (inter-)decadal variability and secular changes. The importances of tropical and midlatitude air-sea coupling, inter-basin and tropics-midlatitude interactions for climate variability in the region have been established and are being further investigated using high-resolution observations and numerical models. Studies elucidating the complex interactions among climate modes and processes are particularly welcomed.
