Public presentation is an outreach program that is set in order for the public as well as for those who are involved in the Earth and planetary sciences to be familiar with the results of the Earth and planetary sciences.

  Outreach session. Invited speakers present recent findings and developments in their studies and fields.

A003 Geoscience Education and Outreach

  The aims of outreach and geoscience education are to encourage developments that raise public awareness of geosciences through schools and/or public outreach by not only educators but also researchers. Therefore, any presentation related with these aims will be welcomed to this session. Why do we need to hold this session at the JPGU meeting? Please find your answers at this session.

A004 Geopark Kazuo Amano
 
  Geopark is promoted by the Global Geoparks Network supported by UNESCO. Many local governments or communities expect Geopark acitivity as a tool for development of local economy and science education. Current status and the problem of Japanese activity to promote geoparks are discussed in this session.
