次期学習指導要領では、知識の獲得のみではなく、育成するべき資質・能力が問われている。その実現のためには、学習するべき内容の吟味と学習方法の検討が必要である。前者の例として地理及び地学の基礎的科目の内容、後者の例として、いわゆるアクティブ・ラーニングの実践を取り上げ、議論を行う。
