Multiple records of oceanward accretion/growth and landward
erosion/denudation of orogenic belts have been preserved in various
minerals, rocks, and mountains. Decoding these records from Earth
materials is one of the most fundamental but rather critical
approaches to reveal physical phenomenon of Earth's history. In this
session we seek contributions focusing on the processes related to
continental collision orogens, subduction zones and related
metamorphic belts, and the testing of such material via petrological,
geochemical, and geochronological modeling. The session also aims at
exchanging ideas among geoscientists applying different approaches
on problems of variant scale from mineral grains to mountain ranges.
New works with novel or interdisciplinary techniques are especially
welcome. |
